Our Technology Resource Centre has been busy over the past few months preparing a series of new technology workshops and seminars. These workshops cover a wide variety of technology, from tablets, to Internet safety, to social media. Each workshop is designed to give participants plenty of opportunity for hands-on learning. Some topics are being presented as seminars to allow participants the chance to ask questions and learn about the aspects of new technologies that are the most interesting to them.

iPad Part 1 and 2

iPad 101 Part 1 is an introduction to using your iPad. Starting from the basics of iPad anatomy, basic controls, and navigation and up to using the camera, changing settings, and downloading applications.

iPad 101 Part 2 is an extension of the Part 1 course. Expanding on the basics of navigating an iPad, the second course also discusses the use of iCloud, iPad maintenance, as well as other applications and uses for iPads.

This seminar will be a Q&A type discussion based around common Internet Safety practices. Discussion topics include, identifying scam emails, components of a strong password, and how to protect your information on mobile devices.
