Volunteer

Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your resumé and learn valuable job skills? Or perhaps you'd like to sit on the Teen Advisory Board?

Consider volunteering for the County of Prince Edward Public Library!

This can be a fun rewarding way to complete your 40 hours of community service. We'll provide training and guidance. Set the hours that meet your schedule with as little as 1 hr a month or come in several times a week - the choice is yours.

Call Liz at 613-476-5962 or email at teenroom@peclibrary.org for more information or to get involved!  Download the application form here [.pdf format]

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB), formed when the County of Prince Edward Public Library began offering specialized services to teens and it meets monthly at the Picton Branch of the Library. The group's mission statement is: "The TAB exists to help create a positive environment for youth and to make suggestions for the library", which encompasses our two major goals: helping to make the library a place that is welcoming to teens and volunteering ideas and suggestions for specific events.  The group is made up of dedicated, enthusiastic teens who are interested in helping the community and the library.

Some of the fun things that we have done include:

  • Organizing video game tournaments
  • Decorating the Teen Room
  • Decorating the Kid's room
  • Fund-raisers
  • Field trips (to Books on the Bay)

We meet the last Saturday of every month, at noon, and all teens are welcome! The library will serve lunch!
